Veterans Administration in Providence addresses 'confusion' over who is eligible for COVID vaccine

Providence Journal - 3/10/2021

The Veterans Administration in Providence is trying to address "confusion" over who can receive COVID-19 vaccination shots from the VA.

The VA is vaccinating veterans of all ages who are enrolled in VA health care, the VA says in an email addressing "All" in its salutation.

Enrolled veterans can walk into the VA's medical center in Providence to get a vaccine shot or make an appointment for a later date, says the email from Heather Oberg, executive staff assistant to the director.

Appointments can also be made by calling (401) 273-7100 ext. 16226.

For those veterans who are not enrolled in VA healthcare, "we can enroll you on the spot and determine your eligibility," Oberg writes. "You will need to fill out a 1010EZ form and bring your DD214 and picture identification to the Medical Center in Providence."
