Herald-Standard - 1/15/2017

CRYSTAL LAKE

FLORIDA

My brother, my HERO, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home Tuesday, January 5, 2017 He was 92 and spent most of his life doing the things he loved.

He was a very proud Marine who fought for our country then later spent 35 years in the Virgin Islands on St. Croix pursuing his dream as a Captain of a Research Vessel.

He also loved sailing his sailboat on the Caribbean waters.

When Hurricane Hugo destroyed the islands, he and his wife Mickey relocated to Annapolis, Maryland. There he followed another dream -----building and flying Gyrocopters. After a number of years there, they moved to Crystal Lake, Florida.

Pooch left behind his wife of 67 years, Mickey; his son, Georgie 'Moose' and his wife Rachael; daughter, Susan Hunter Silver; sister, Peggy Rose Silver Crable and her husband Wayne; many cousins, nephews, nieces; sister-in-law, Barbie of Crystal Lake, Florida.
