Cedar Creek Veterans Foundation donates to Hope For The Warriors

Athens Daily Review - 11/21/2018

Nov. 21--The Cedar Creek Veterans Foundation has donated $6,100 from its annual Thunder Over Cedar Creek Lake Airshow and veterans golf tournament with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Hope For The Warriors.

One of three nonprofits supported by Cedar Creek Veterans Foundation, Hope For The Warriors is a national nonprofit dedicated to restoring a sense of self, family and hope for veterans, service members and military families.

Since 2011, the Cedar Creek Veterans Foundation has donated more than $27,000 to Hope For The Warriors and its programs.

The primary fundraiser for the Cedar Creek Veterans Foundation, Thunder Over Cedar Creek Lake Airshow happens entirely over Texas' 5th largest lake with an array of civilian and military aircraft.

The mission of the Cedar Creek Veterans Foundation is to honor the courageous men and women who have served to protect our American Freedoms and to be of direct benefit to the survivors of those warriors by providing financial support to agencies responsible for their care and nurture.

"Hope For The Warriors provides amazing services for their clientele and Cedar Creek Veterans Foundation is honored to continue its partnership with them," said Lyn Thomas, president of Cedar Creek Veterans Foundation, in a press release. "Their ability to use 86 percent of each dollar raised for their programs makes our work to raise money a true labor of love."

Celebrating 12 years of service, Hope For The Warriors helps veterans, service members and military families with a variety of programming including clinical health and wellness, sports and recreation and transition services.

"It's an honor to have the continued support of the Cedar Creek Veterans Foundation," said Robin Kelleher, co-founder and president of the nonprofit organization, in the press release. "The foundation is truly impacting the well-being of the many veterans, service members and families who have bravely served and sacrificed for our country, here in Texas and across the county."
